With over twenty-five years of retirement plans experience, Mark directs a consulting company that provides innovative services to select retirement plan sponsors. Tomkins and Associates, LLC keeps vendors honest, ensures that fiduciary behavior and decisions are informed, and assists Human Resources. The firm specializes in providing these services to US subsidiaries of foreign companies, including those of some the largest corporations in the world.
Mark has lectured at professional associations and conferences on a wide range of qualified and nonqualified retirement plan topics, including pension law, legislative and marketplace developments, and plan design and implementation. He has taught graduate-level retirement plan courses; has been quoted in professional publications, including Pension Management and Retirement Income Reporter magazines, both of which featured him on the cover; and has provided expert-witness testimony for a Fortune 200 company regarding fiduciary responsibility, pension plan administration, and Requests for Proposals.
Prior to creating Tomkins and Associates in 1999, Mark was Vice President at Sedgwick Noble Lowndes, an international employee benefits and actuarial consulting firm, where he worked for nineteen years. He graduated with honors and with distinction in Economics from Rutgers University. He currently serves on the boards of two companies and on the Administrative and Investment Committee of a Pension Plan.
Jacqueline Alworth, Director, Retirement Plan Services
Jackie brings over ten years of experience in corporate financial management to our team. Since joining Tomkins and Associates in 2003, she has coordinated numerous acquisitions, controlled group, coverage and nondiscrimination compliance projects. Jackie now manages delivery of our retirement plan services, assisting plan fiduciaries with the implementation of changes to, among other elements, plan design, vendors and investment fund lineup, and, ultimately, assisting them with sound ongoing annual management. Jackie also oversees annual recordkeeping and reporting for our defined contribution clients.
Jackie received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rutgers University and is a licensed insurance producer.
Elaine Falchetta, Retirement Plans Analyst
Elaine brings over twenty years experience in the business world to the team. She progressed from Programmer to Programming Analyst, Team Leader and Customer Service Specialist while at Prudential Financial. She then served as Project Manager at IBM, during which time she also had the opportunity to become a certified Project Management Professional.
Elaine has a Bachelor of Science in Education and has teaching experience on many levels. In her efforts to provide service to our clients, Elaine creates and edits documents related to meetings and retirement plans, facilitates benefit distributions, confirms accuracy of census date, and researches and summarizes current information impacting our business.
Dan Hiroshi Tashima, Consultant, Retirement Plan Services
Prior to joining Tomkins and Associates in 2008, Dan was Executive Vice President, Treasurer and and Director at Noritake Co., Inc., an American subsidiary of the Japanese manufacturer, Noritake Co., Limited, in Japan. During his twenty-four year tenure, he had a wide range of responsibilities including member of the Board of Directors, member of the Pension Administrative Committee, and main financial officer in charge of monthly and annual financial reports.
Prior to working at Noritake Co., Inc., Dan worked at KPMG as a staff auditor. Dan also worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a Tax Compliance Officer. Dan graduated with honors in Accounting from Hunter College in New York.
